Boys Basketball 2025: HKHS Defeats Old Saybrook 79-63

(January 13, 2025) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball team triumphed over conference rival Old Saybrook on January 10, 2025 with a 79-63 victory. It was a refreshing win for the Cougars after dropping two in a row.

The Cougars were led by seniors Andrew Crayton (27 points) and Cody Robinson (21 points).  Juniors Declan Moriarty and Jay Evans each contributed 11 points while powerhouse Spencer Savoy chipped in 5. Senior Joe Slane and sophomore Brody Ferguson rounded out the scoring with 2 points each. The Cougars saw strong rebounding from Crayton and Savoy with 11 and 6 rebounds, respectively. Crayton also had 4 steals and 5 assists. Savoy and Evans continued to showcase the hustle the Cougars like to see including a late game block by Savoy when the Cougars lead narrowed to 1 point. Slane and senior Jake McKenzie remain the go-to players to provide muscle when it counts.

The Cougars are now 4-3 on the season as they head on the road to Portland on January 14, 2025. JV at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity at 7:00 p.m. Come support your HKHS Cougars across the Arrigoni Bridge. See you on the Court.
