(June 27, 2024) — Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam is seeking local Connecticut children for its 2024 Goodspeed production of A Christmas Story, The Musical. Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
Goodspeed is seeking Non-Equity child actors to play and understudy the roles of Ralphie (age 9), Randy (age 8) and various other school children (ages 9-11). All candidates should be 4’11” or shorter, all the boys should have unchanged voices, and all except Ralphie and Randy must be able to tap.
All auditions are by appointment only. Appointments may be made starting immediately. Please call (860) 873-8664, ext. 721, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to schedule an appointment.
All candidates should prepare a 32-bar cut of an up-tempo song with appropriate sheet music. Music must be legible and in the proper key (no lead sheets please). An accompanist will be provided. All candidates, except Ralphie and Randy, will be asked to dance. Please bring tap and jazz/soft-soled shoes. Bring a resume and recent photo.
Candidates must be available for four weeks of rehearsal and nine weeks of performances between October 1, 2024, (first rehearsal) and December 29, 2024, (close) in East Haddam.
