Haddam Awarded $782,916 TRIP Grant

By Bob McGarry, First Selectman, Haddam.

(February 2, 2024)—I’m pleased to tell you CT DOT has awarded us a $782,916 Transportation Rural Improvement Program (TRIP) Grant for the Haddam Center sidewalk replacement. You may know we just finished replacing the section of the sidewalk from Walkley Hill Road to Jail Hill Road. The TRIP Grant allows us to replace the rest of the sidewalk which ends at the Middlesex Extension Center. As you can see from the photos, the sidewalk is in poor condition with many tripping hazards. The width of the sidewalk will be increased from three feet to five feet making it compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The extra width also makes it more comfortable to walk alongside someone.
