Programs and Events at Brainerd Memorial Library, December 2025

(December 2, 2025) — The following programs and events will take place at Brainerd Memorial Library during the month of December 2025. If you have questions regarding programs, please visit the library’s website – brainerdlibrary.org – or call 860-345-2204 during open hours. Brainerd Library’s weekly schedule is as follows: M 10-6PM, Tu 10-8PM, W 10-8PM, Th 10-8PM, F 10-6PM, Sat 10-3PM. You can find us at 920 Saybrook Road, Haddam, CT. Hope to see you soon!

*Please note Brainerd Library will be closed December 24 & 25, and will close at 3PM on December 23 & 31.*

All Ages Programs

Gingerbread House Party – Wednesday Dec 10 at 6-8PM: Build yummy gingerbread houses! Materials and cheer provided, all ages welcome.

Adult Programs

Jigsaw Puzzle Club – Monday Dec 2 & 16 at 1PM: Join us for the new Jigsaw Puzzle Club. This is a drop-in event, no signup necessary. Work on a jigsaw puzzle provided by Brainerd Library, and bring a puzzle to swap with other puzzlers if you wish!

Drop-In Crafting – Wednesday Dec 3 & 17 at 2PM: Drop in for this casual adult crafting group. This month we will be making winter wonderland jars & 3-D snowflakes!

Jamming with Jenny – Wednesday Dec 10 @ 6PM: Deck the halls with 3-D snowflakes! Come join Brainerd’s craftineer and make this fun holiday decorations.

Culinary Club – Wednesday December 10 at 7:15PM (OFFSITE): This month, members of this potluck club will be meeting for dinner at Sayulita’s in Essex. Call the library for more details.

Teen Programs

Teen Advisory Board Holiday Party– Wednesday Dec 3 at 5:30PM: Discuss volunteer opportunities, brainstorm program ideas, and celebrate with snacks and crafts at our Holiday Party!

Teen Dungeons & Dragons – Tuesday Dec 9 at 5:30PM: Join a campaign and experience epic adventures! For new and old players alike.

Teen Board Game Night – Tuesday Dec 2 at 5:30PM: Hang out, play board games new and old, or craft a D&D character! For grades 6-12.

Kids Programs

Preschool Storytime – Tuesdays at 10AM: Join us for our weekly storytime filled with interactive storytelling fun!

Toddler Tunes – Thursdays at 10AM: A sing-a-long with live music and fun weekly themes.

Kids Dungeons & Dragons – Ages 7-10 Tuesday Dec 2 & 16 at 4:30PM, Ages 11-13 Tuesday Dec 9 at 4:30PM: Join us at the Brainerd House School of Magical Mysteries for a fun D&D adventure! Age groups will alternate every Tuesday. No experience necessary.

Kids Switch Game Night – Wednesday Dec 3 at 4:30PM: Elementary schoolers can join us for an hour of fun games for the Nintendo Switch. Controllers will be provided for this family-friendly gaming session, but participants can also bring their own controllers if they want. Possible games include Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Super Monkey Ball, and more!

Yuletide Party – Saturday Dec 13 at 11-1PM: Cookie decorating! Crafts! Games! Wassailing! Don’t miss it!

Kids Board Game Night – Wednesday Dec 17 @ 5:30PM: Elementary age kids can join us for an hour of fun and family-friendly board games, from classics like Connect Four to newer games just waiting to become your family’s next favorite.

Pokémon Club – Wednesday Dec 10 at 4:30PM: A club for kids who love Pokémon. Trivia & Prizes! Fat Pikachus! Bring your game and/or cards. Trading allowed with adult permission.

Dice Lab – Friday Dec 19 at 4:30PM: Learn to craft dice and miniatures with a 3-D printer, a Cricut & more!
