Donations Needed for HKYFS Holiday Giving Program

Submitted by HKYFS

(November 2, 2025) — The Holiday Giving Program facilitated by Haddam-Killingworth Youth and Family Services is available for families in need who live in Haddam, Higganum, Haddam Neck or Killingworth. New gifts, toys, and gift cards will be collected for children and youth from birth through age 18. We also appreciate gift wrapping paper, gift bags, tape, and bows to provide to the families to wrap their gifts.

The holiday season is a time for caring and sharing, but for some families it can also be especially difficult.  HKYFS is asking the community to join us in making the holiday season as bright as possible for as many families as we can by easing some of the financial stress of buying gifts for youth.   No child should go without this year. We need your help!

If you, your family, church, business, civic group, or club are willing to sponsor a family or child, please contact us. There are several ways to help:

  • “Adopt” a family and we will give you a list with items and sizes to purchase.
  • Gift cards are extremely popular with older children and teens, as well as adults who can shop for the children in their lives.
  • Make a general donation to HKYFS for the Holiday Giving program and we will decide how best to use the donation to meet a family’s wish list.

HKYFS is also partnering with New Image Auto in December for a Stuff-a-Cruiser Event. Donations of toys and gift cards also can be brought to New Image Auto on Sunday, November 30, 2025 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Santa will be there to celebrate with cookies, hot cocoa, photo opportunities and animals.

For more information about how you can donate, or to register for this confidential program, please call 860-345-7498 or e-mail Michelle at events@hkyfs.org
