(September 12, 2025) — What can I say about Walter? This is the most precious little Chihuahua/Terrier mix you will ever meet. Actually, all of them are precious in my book. He is seven years old, weighing fifteen pounds. The picture does not do him justice with his coloring. He is brown/chocolate in color.

Walter has been neutered and is up-to-date with his shots. At seven years old, dogs are considered seniors, but I believe they are just starting to figure out what they really want to do with their lives. For instance, he knows that he would like to be in a home where he will have a family/person for the rest of his life being served plates of food from Bon Appetit magazine. Not only that, he is house-trained, extremely friendly, loves car rides (and won’t barf), affectionate, loves other dogs and cats (how about that!), but should be with kids ages twelve and up who are dog savvy and show respect.
He has a few extra pounds on him because he does not like to exercise much. He does not like his throat touched, so I guess turtleneck sweaters are out. All the Brass City Rescue team can do is use a slip lead if he is getting some snacks out of your hand while doing so. Once he knows you, he will initiate attention and petting, following you everywhere you go. A fenced in yard is a must for this guy. He will respect your boundaries, as you respect his. With all that said, he really is a great dog. Who knows what happened to him in the past? But in time, he will be a superstar. It’s all about time, love, and patience. All he asks for is a nice soft bed to sleep in, good food, love, and attention.
You can apply for this little man at www.brasscityrescue.org by copying and pasting this link into your web browser. All they need is a second chance! You will never be sorry!
