(August 20, 2025) — The Haddam Garden Club will once again be organizing and managing the Flower and Horticultural Competition at the Haddam Neck Fair over Labor Day weekend. We will be accepting entries from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, and judging will take place that night.
The theme this year is “Off to See the Wizard,” with categories reflecting the whimsy of Oz.
Flower design classes range from “Ruby Slippers,” “Over the Rainbow,” “Wicked Witch of the West,” and “We’re Not in Kansas Anymore,” to mini arrangements, such as “Welcome to Munchkinland!,” “Glinda, Good Witch of the North” and “Emerald City.” There are also Fresh Flower, Potted Plant/Herb and Bouquet classes. Bouquets carry on the theme with Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion groups.
Visit our website www.HaddamGardenClub.org or more information about competition guidelines, special awards and theme descriptions.
HGC also will have member-created gifts, crafts and plants for sale during the Fair. Look for us at the Flower and Vegetable Barn across from Grange Hall, near Gate 3. We look forward to seeing you there!
