Programs and Events at Brainerd Library, March 2025

Adult Program

JAMMING WITH JENNY/Clay Time, Part 1/March 5, 2025/Clay Time, Part 2/March 19, 2025

This month we will craft a clay pot and/or a flower frog. What’s a flower frog? A useful little disk that aids in flower arranging. Let them dry and then, come back on March 19, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. to decorate!

All Ages

CARDIGAN CLUB/FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS/March 26, 2025/6:00 p.m.

Calling all Swifties! Come one come all! A Taylor Swift craft club for all ages. Wear your cutest cardigan and join us to make friendship bracelets and plan future crafts. Snacks provided. Please register online.

Adult Programs

JIGSAW PUZZLE CLUB/March 3, 2025 and March 17, 2025 11:00 a.m.

Join us for the new Jigsaw Puzzle Club. This is a drop-in event, no signup necessary. Work on a jigsaw puzzle provided by Brainerd Library, and bring a puzzle to swap with other puzzlers if you wish.

CRAFTING CONNECTIONS/DROP-IN CRAFTING/Paper Flowers and Oui Jar Plant Hangers/March 5, 2025 and March 19, 2025/1:30 p.m.

Drop in for this casual adult crafting group. All necessary materials supplied.

CULINARY CLUB/GIVE US MORE GUINNESS/March 12, 2025/6:30 p.m.

This month members will be cooking/baking anything that has Guinness beer in the recipe (no alcoholic beverages please!). See you here!

GENEALOGY CLUB/March 18, 2025 6:00 p.m.

Whether you are an experienced genealogist, or someone newly interested in their family history, this is the program for you. Come join others with an interest in family history and Haddam history for this fun and engaging club.

Hang out, play board games new and old, or craft a D&D character! For grades 6-12.

Kids Programs

KIDS D&D – SIGN-UP MANDATORY!/Ages 7-10: First and Third Tuesday at 4:30 p.m./Ages 11-13: Second and Fourth Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Join us at the Brainerd House School of Magical Mysteries for a fun D&D adventure! Age groups will alternate every Tuesday. Group size is limited so please sign up for sessions in advance. No experience necessary.

POKÉMON CLUB/March 12, 2025 and March 26, 2025/4:30 p.m.

A club for kids who love Pokémon. Trivia & Prizes! Fat Pikachus! Bring your game/cards. Trading allowed with adult permission.

TASTE TEST SHOWDOWN: YOUTUBER EDITION/March 18, 2025/5:30 p.m.

Ever wonder if those snacks made by YouTubers are worth the hype? Come sample and rank different YouTuber products like Lunchly, Feastables, and more. Grades 6-12.

MIDDLE GRADE ART CLUB/March 19, 2025/5:30 p.m.

Whether you’re a Furret fanatic or a Furret fledgling, you can frolic and fashion a fabulous Furret fabrication! All materials will be provided, including paper, clay, and more. Grades 6-12.

DICE LAB/March 28, 2025/4:30 p.m.

Learn to craft dice and miniatures with a 3-D printer, a Cricut and more.

WILDLIFE DETECTIVES with BUSHY HILL NATURE CENTER/March 29, 2025/11:00 a.m.

A hands-on, story-based adventure for kids. Solve animal mysteries and learn about wildlife. Grades K-4.

Calling All Bird Lovers

Come check out our awesome birding backpack! Generously donated by the Middlesex County Community Foundation, it includes binoculars, a birdsong guide book, bird identification guide, insect guide, bug collector kit, and outdoor scavenger hunt cards. You can check it out with your trusty Brainerd library card, so come on in and try it out.

Time to Start Planting!

The greenhouse for seed planting and seed catalog are being brought down from the attic!  Patrons will be able to swap seeds and plant them in the next few weeks to usher in the springtime and planting season!
