(October 12, 2024) — The United Congregational Church of Haddam and Higganum is excited to announce its 13th Annual Yuletide Quilt Show and Holiday Bazaar, taking place on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the church’s Haddam campus, located at 905 Saybrook Road in Haddam.

Known for its vibrant display of handcrafted quilts, this event promises to offer attendees a delightful blend of creativity, craftsmanship and holiday spirit. The quilt show will feature a diverse range of both traditional and modern pieces, lovingly made by local quilters. From intricate patterns to festive holiday designs, the exhibit will captivate quilting enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.

In addition to the quilt exhibit, the Holiday Bazaar will present an array of holiday items for sale, quilting and sewing vendors, a “crafty” tag sale, and raffles with a chance to win a handmade quilt, as well as more than thirty raffle baskets. The church’s café will also be open throughout the day, serving a variety of homemade soups, pies, artisan breads and hot beverages to keep visitors warm and refreshed.

If you are a quilter or own a quilt you’d like to display, we’d love to showcase it! To register your quilt for the event, please contact the church at 860-345-2742 for an Exhibitor’s Registration Form or download it from the church’s website at www.haddamchurch.org/events/quilt-show. There is no cost to participate as an exhibitor.

Admission to the quilt exhibit is $8, with free entry for children under 12. Access to the activities in the fellowship hall—raffles, lunch, holiday wares, and vendors—does not require an admission fee.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the church and its many community outreach programs, including support for the Haddam Food and Fuel Banks, the HK Backpack Program, Youth and Family Services, and other charitable efforts that help those in need.
