Moving Pavement Operation on Route 9 in Haddam October 5th and 6th

(October 5, 2024) — The Connecticut Department of Transportation will perform Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) testing on Route 9 in the northbound and southbound directions in Middletown and Haddam. Testing is scheduled to occur on Saturday, October 5, 2024 and Sunday, October 6, 2024. It will be completed on Monday, October, 7, 2024.

Physical testing is being performed to evaluate the condition of the roadway as part of a potential future project.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR ADVISORY

The operation on Route 9 will be performed each night from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. be completed on Monday night, October 7, 2024. This will be a moving operation with three Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMAs) and a police escort to help guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
