Shoreline Co-Op High School Girls Swimming Wins Gold at Relay Meet

Shoreline Co-Op swim team wins 4 of 8 events at pre-season relay meet in Windsor Locks. (September 25, 2024) — The newly formed Shoreline Co-Op High School Girls Swimming Team (with swimmers from Haddam-Killingworth, Valley Regional, Lyme-Old Lyme and Old Saybrook) won four of eight relays in a pre-season relay meet held at Windsor Locks High School on September 6, 2024. Shoreline girls raced against swimmers from Suffield, Windsor Locks Co-Op, and Hartford Co-Op/Bulkeley/HMTCA.

Shoreline swimmers who competed in the Relay Meet were: Aria Cummings (FR, H-K), Bethany Erkkila (JR, V), Claire Johnson (FR, V), Elsa Shatraw (SO, H-K), Emma Wakelee (JR, OS), Kinsley Grenier (FR, L-OL), Lauren Thebeau (FR, H-K), Maggie Miller (JR, H-K), Olive Forristall (SO, H-K), Olivia Campo (SR, H-K), Olivia “Liv” Macaluso (SR, H-K), Phoebe Spallone (FR, V), Rose Dimmock (JR, L-OL), Sasha Dziebel (JR, OS), Sofia Campo (SR, H-K), Sophia Langer (SO, H-K), Veronica Pypa (SR, H-K) and Zi Abbott (SO, H-K).

Medals were awarded to first-place finishers.

Winning relays for Shoreline were:

800-yard Freestyle Relay: Thebeau, Shatraw, O. Campo, Miller.

400-Yard Freestyle Relay: Spallone, O. Campo, Forristall, Macaluso.

200-Yard Medley Relay: Spallone, S. Campo, Johnson, Macaluso.

200-Yard Freestyle Relay: Miller, Spallone, S. Campo, Johnson.

Coach’s Note: Swimmers from the four Shoreline high schools are blending beautifully as a team. We’re thrilled with the progress we’ve been seeing!
