(September 18, 2024) — I am excited to announce that the Town Clerk’s Office now offers Property Alert Service for the residents of Haddam. This free service is something I have been working on acquiring for you, which I firmly believe will help put your mind at ease. Being proactive on this issue will put Haddam in a strong position to defend its residents against property theft.
Property Alert Service is the first step in protecting your property. Unfortunately, property and mortgage fraud are a fast-growing crime in our country. Scammers record fraudulent documents – like fake deeds – or record fake liens – against property owners. In some cases, fraud on real property is not discovered for years. To address these concerns, and protect one of your most important assets, my office offers this free service to notify you immediately via email whenever a document with your name is recorded in the Town Clerk’s Office.

You will automatically be notified electronically when a document is recorded with your name. It really is as easy as 1-2-3.
