Late September Events at the Killingworth Library

Craft and Chill – Saturday, September 28, 2024, 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Youth ages 12 through 15 are invited to create neurographic doodles! Led by Certified Art and Meditation teacher Miss Faith from Haddam-Killingworth Youth and Family Services, this one-hour program will teach you how to create in a way that calms your brain. Please register in advance. If you have any questions about this program, please contact Faith Sprigg at Faith@hkyfs.org.

Try Your Hand at Tic Tac Taylor! – Did you know that Taylor Swift has an extensive reading list, and many of her songs and albums have drawn inspiration from her favorite books? Now’s your chance to read along! Starting on September 30, 2024, stop by the Killingworth Library and pick up a Tic Tac Taylor card – game boards are available for children, tweens, teens, and adults. Complete a row of reading and return your card by December 11, 2024 to be entered into a prize drawing to be held on December 13, 2024 (Taylor Swift’s 35th birthday). PDF copies of the game boards also will be available on the library’s website: killingworthlibrary.org.

October Events at the Killingworth Library

“Drive-In” Movie Nights – Tuesdays: October 1, 2024 and October 8, 2024, 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Got a spare box sitting around the house? Decorate it with paper plate wheels (and any other designs you like) and bring it to the library for a “drive-in” movie! Sit in your “car” in the Children’s Room, enjoy a bag of Smartfood popcorn, and enjoy the evening’s feature film: Frog and Toad are Friends on 10/1/24; It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on 10/8/24. Please register in advance – “parking” is limited!

Holiday update – The Killingworth Library will be open during regular hours on Columbus Day, Monday, October 14, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
