Haddam Senior and Social Services Monthly Report: August 2024

(September 12, 2024) — The following is a report on services and activities provided during the month of September 2024. Please note that the Social Services report includes totals for the Municipal Agent. 

Senior and Social Services 

The following programs serviced the community: 

Haddam Emergency Food Bank serviced 112 individuals. There were 51 seniors, 53 adults and 18 children. In addition to food, Haddam Emergency Food Bank serviced four families with gift cards to local restaurants and/or grocery stores in town. 

Haddam Emergency Fuel Bank serviced no families with fuel assistance in August 2024, 

Haddam Social Services serviced seven individuals with paperwork assistance. 

Haddam Social Services/Clothing Bank serviced 263 individuals with clothing.  

Haddam Social Services did one wellness check in August 2024. 

Senior Van 

The Senior Van serviced a total of 69 trips in August, with 30 medical appointments, 7 people to and from the Senior Center, and 32 attending the weekly shopping trip. 

Haddam Senior Center

The Senior Center was open eighteen days during the month of August. 

The Senior Center distributed 130 Futures, Inc. meals in August and had 301 attendees at the Senior Center. 

13 Seniors attended Pizza and a Movie- Evening Edition 

14 Seniors attended Oldies but Goodies with Nancy Meyers 

48 Seniors attended the Five-Week Brain Series Program 

5 Seniors attended the Game Day Trivia 

5 Seniors attended the Blood Pressure Screening with Sherry Carlson 

5 Days with 20+ attendees at the Senior Center in August 2024
