Department of Veterans Affairs Hosts “Stand-Down” Event September 20th

(September 7, 2024) — The 2024 Stand Down event, hosted by the Department of Veterans Affairs, will take place on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Stand Down offers effective “one-stop” access to a range of programs and services through state and federal agencies, veterans organizations and community-based non-profits at regional sites across the state including social, financial, medical, legal, employment and educational services, as well as housing assistance.

The Stand Down will be held at six regional locations around the state including the Department of Veterans Affairs main campus at 287 West Street in Rocky Hill. Other locations: Wheeler Recreational Center at the University of Bridgeport; the St. Gregory CCD Center at 1043 Stafford Avenue in Bristol; the Danbury War Memorial at 1 Memorial Drive; the Easter Seals Veterans Rally Point at 24 Stott Avenue in Norwich, and at the UConn Stamford Campus at 1 University Plaza.
