Get Ready for the 2024 Haddam Neck Fair, Labor Day Weekend!

(August 2, 2024) — As summer draws to a close, the 112th Annual Haddam Neck Fair promises to make Labor Day Weekend an unforgettable celebration for families and friends. From August 30, 2024 to September 2, 2024, the fairgrounds will come alive with the sounds of live music, the excitement of thrilling competitions, and the joy of classic fair attractions.

This year’s fair features some exciting schedule changes to enhance the experience for all attendees. The ever-popular Stock Truck Pulls have been moved to Sunday, allowing for more pulls and more fun, and ensuring that this highlight event doesn’t get missed by any enthusiastic participants or spectators. Meanwhile, the Garden Tractor Pulls will now take place on Friday night, offering a dynamic start to the weekend’s activities. The fair offers a wide array of activities and entertainment for all ages. Young visitors can look forward to the Kids Power Wheels Derby on Friday at 6:30 p.m., where children navigate their mini-vehicles through a fun-filled obstacle course, providing endless entertainment for participants and spectators alike. The Pedal Tractor Pull, scheduled for Monday at noon, gives younger fairgoers a chance to show off their strength and skill in a friendly competition. Other fun contests include the Watermelon Eating ContestEgg Toss and more, ensuring there’s something for everyone. For our youngest attendees, the Baby Show on Monday at 2:00 p.m. offers a charming event for proud parents and adorable infants.

For those who enjoy a bit of quirky fun, the Skillet Throwing Contest for women on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and the Beard Contest at 1:00 p.m. are sure to be crowd-pleasers. On Sunday at 4:00 p.m., adults can test their mettle in the Redneck Strongman Competition, a series of challenging events designed to find the strongest man and woman.

Music lovers will be treated to a fantastic lineup of live performances. Downtown 6 will set the tone on Friday at 6:00 p.m., followed by Rocklanding on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.. The legendary Max Creek will take the stage on Sunday at 7:00 p.m., ensuring a rocking good time for all.

In addition to the competitions and music, daily shows like the Pirate ShowBubble Show, and Judi Jones Dancing with Hoops provide non-stop entertainment. Classic fair rides and games will be open until 10:00 p.m. daily, offering thrills and fun for all ages.

Foodies will delight in the variety of delicious options available from local vendors, while shoppers can browse unique crafts and goods from talented artisans. Don’t forget to check out the 4-H and educational exhibits that celebrate local agriculture and craftsmanship.

Visitors can also enjoy traditional fair activities that bring back fond memories. Explore the intricate fancy work such as quilting and lace-making, admire beautiful artwork and photography, and marvel at various collections. Relish the fresh produce straight from the farm as our local farmers showcase their best vegetables and canned goods.
