USCG Auxiliary Offers Boating Safety Course

(July 28, 2024) — Boaters are invited to take our approved safe boating class, and complete the proctored test, in the same location at U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Milford Flotilla on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m. at its Training Center located at 1 Helwig Street, Milford, the location for all classes listed below.

In the schedule in the center of the page, find the August 3, 2024 class date. Click on “Click here to Register Online for this Class.” This will bring you to the online payment screen, About Boating Safely, which will guide you through the process. You also may pay by check or cash at the door starting at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the class. If you have questions, please call Dennis Belanger, public education staff officer, at 203-494-5219.

All students must obtain a State of Connecticut conservation ID number before taking the BA/PWC/TOW class. To register for a free ID number, go to: https://ct.aspirafocus.com/internetsales

This course will cover all the basic topics required for the safe operation of recreational boating and seamanship. It also will cover safe personal watercraft operation and towing. Successful completion of this eight-hour course satisfies the Connecticut licensing requirements for boats, personal watercraft (PWC) and towing. Family participation is encouraged. Cost is $60 per person.
