Family-Owned Golf Course Celebrates 60 Years

(June 25, 2024) — Indian Springs Golf Club in Middlefield will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a 1960s-style celebration on June 29, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Golf Club opened in June of 1964 and is still owned and operated by the Parmelee family as a public course. In the early 1960’s, Alan Parmelee transformed a rugged 72-acre chicken farm in Middlefield into a destination for sport and community. He sketched a nine-hole layout on a piece of paper and dreamed of a golf course.

Pushing this dream toward reality, he borrowed money from family, friends, and friends of friends. The golf course architect, Al Zikorus, tweaked his design, but kept the basic idea of it. Over the past sixty years, this lush and manicured course has been host to thousands of unforgettable moments and countless friendships created.

The Parmelee family continues to operate the course with meticulous care. This attention to detail elevates the conditions well beyond a typical nine-hole track, with water, beautiful views, impeccable fairways and large, immaculate greens.

The 60th Anniversary celebration will include a four-person scramble and cocktails from the 1960s. The evening will be capped off with food and appetizers with a 60’s twist. All are welcome.
