Governor Lamont has directed the state’s “Extreme Hot Weather Protocol” to remain in effect through Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Noon. The purpose is to ensure residents receive protection from the hot conditions. When enacted, a system is set up for state agencies, municipalities and other partners to coordinate with United Way 2-1-1 to make sure cooling center information is available statewide.
Anyone in need of a place to get out of the heat can locate their nearest cooling center by calling 2-1-1 or viewing the list at 211ct.org.
When the Governor announces that the “Extreme Hot Weather Protocol” is in effect, the library will announce its hours on the website and social media. Brainerd Library is located at 920 Saybrook Road in Haddam. Phone: 860-345-2204.
