Classes and Workshops at Spectrum Gallery, June 2024

(June 2, 2024) — The following adult classes and workshops will be offered during the month of June 2024 by Spectrum Gallery, 61 Main Street in Centerbrook. Classes may be accessed online or at the Gallery. Register and pay at spectrumartgallery.org. Spectrum Membership starting at $45 per year provides a 10% discount on art instruction and on select Artisan Store items.

In Gallery: Flowers & Flourishes – Painting on Glass Vase Workshop 

Discover the secret to painting on glass, creating beautiful floral designs on glassware. Understand how to make a simple plan for your design and learn about color mixing, and how to apply fluid brush strokes and layering techniques. Each participant will make two vases to keep for themselves, give to your favorite gardener or someone you love. No painting experience necessary. All levels welcome. Sunday, June 9, 2024 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  $50, with $15 material fee paid directly to instructor. Members save $5.

In Gallery: Drawing a Summer Still Life

In this workshop participants focus on summer related objects on a surface i.e. a sunflower, shells, sand dollar, etc. Everyone is introduced to tabletop perspective, shadow, weight, volume and composition. The final drawing can be a composition for a painting class in the future. Material list available upon registration. All levels welcome. Sunday, June 23, 2024 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  $65. Members save $6.50.
