Legislative Hearing on March 4th Regarding Shore Line East Service

Submitted by State Sen. Norm Needleman

(March 2, 2024) — On March 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., the Connecticut General Assembly’s Transportation Committee will hold a public hearing on legislation including a proposed bill with direct relevance to our community.

Senate Bill 277, An Act Restoring Services on the Shore Line East Rail Line, would require the Department of Transportation to restore Shore Line East to the level of service that existed prior to the COVID pandemic. I know this issue impacts many in our communities.

You can register to testify in person at the Capitol or via Zoom online here, with registration closing Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. You can submit written testimony here if you cannot speak in person. My colleagues and I will be sure to consider every piece of testimony submitted regarding this important issue.
