(February 7, 2024) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated North Branford by a score of 67-53 on Senior Night, February 6, 2024, bringing their season record to 10 – 5.

The Cougars were led by sophomore Declan Moriarty, who had 19 points (including 3 3-pointers), Blake Kamoen followed with 18 and Jay Evans with 16. Kamoen continued to dominate on the boards with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Andrew Crayton led in assists with 8. Crayton also had 5 rebounds and contributed 6 points. Solid defense by Ryan Erskine, Jonah Keithan-Resnick and Joe Slane helped propel the Cougars to victory.

A special thank-you to Senior co-captains Blake Kamoen, Luke Mauri, and Bryce O’Linn, and to Ryan Erskine and Jonah Keithan-Resnick for their continued commitment and leadership throughout their tenure with the team. Though on the injured list, Mauri and O’Linn continued to provide encouragement from the bench; and when in peak form Mauri and O’Linn have shown what it means to hustle. Erskine and Keithan-Resnick continue to answer the call finding ways to make plays including critical assists by Erskine and an unwavering persistence by Keithan-Resnick.

It has been a pleasure watching this group of Seniors play and excel under Coach Ferguson’s direction. HK plays at Hale-Ray on Wednesday February 7, 2024. JV at 3:30 p.m. and Varsity at 5:00 p.m.; and away at Valley on Friday February 9, 2024. JV at 5:30 p.m., Varsity at 7:00 p.m.  See you on the court.
