(February 5, 2024) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys basketball team fell to Morgan on Friday by a score of 63-40. It was not HK’s best performance, coupled with the fact that the Morgan Huskies were looking for revenge after the Cromwell Panthers rallied from 19 down to beat Morgan on Wednesday.

The Cougars were led by sophomore Declan Moriarty with 11 points, followed by Andrew Crayton with 10 and 2 assists. Cody Robinson had 5 points, Blake Kamoen and Spencer Savoy each had 4, and Ryan Erskine 3. Freshman Noah Marica saw playing time and contributed 3 points. Crayton had 5 rebounds, Kamoen 4 and Joe Slane 2. Moriarty and Savoy were a combined 8-8 from the free throw line.

Continued strong defense from Joe Slane, including two blocks, was not enough to put the Cougars in a position to win. Next up for the Cougars, North Branford at home for Senior Night. Come out to support your HK Seniors: co-captains Blake Kamoen, Luke Mauri and Bryce O’Linn; and Ryan Erskine and Jonah Keithan-Resnick, for their final home game. JV at 5:30 p.m., Varsity at 7:00 p.m. See you on the court.
