Closures Re-Scheduled–Swing Bridge Update Revised: Week of January 28, 2024

(January 28, 2024) — The Connecticut Department of Transportation advises the following construction activities at the Haddam/East Haddam Swing Bridge (Route 82) for the upcoming week of January 28, 2024:

63-Hour Bridge Closure (REVISED)

  • A full bridge closure to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians, previously scheduled for January 28, 2024, has been re-scheduled to February 4, 2024 beginning at 8:00 p.m. The bridge will reopen on Wednesday February 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.

Overnight Bridge Closures (Revised) The contractor also will be performing overnight bridge closures as follows:

  • Sunday night (1/28) into Monday morning (1/29) – 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Monday night (1/29) into Tuesday morning (1/30) – 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Tuesday night (1/30) into Wednesday morning (1/31) – 7:00 p.m. 6:00 a.m.
  • Wednesday night (1/31) into Thursday morning (2/1) 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Thursday night (2/1) into Friday morning (2/2) – 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Friday night (2/2) into Saturday morning (2/3) – 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
  • Marine Advisory
    • The swing span is no longer opening to accommodate marine traffic passage. Scheduled openings will resume on April 1, 2024.
