Please visit the Calendar on our webpage for details and links to sign up – killingworthlibrary.org – or call 860-663-2000. Our regular programs continue! Check the Calendar for information about Tales for Tots, LEGO STEM, American Girl Club, Cricut Crafting, Love2Sign, Music with Margie, Minecraft, and Surprise Saturdays.

Children’s Winter Reading Challenge – Now through February 29, 2024. Celebrate the magic of the winter season by sharing great stories together as a family. Cozying up with books is a perfect way to set a reading routine and create memories. Pick up a Reading Challenge sheet in the children’s room – for every challenge you complete, color in a character on the front side. No matter how much or how little you finish, everyone is welcome to a celebration on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for prizes and fun with Mrs. Fig.

Create a Vision Board – Thursday, February 1, 2024 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We’re one month into the New Year – how are your resolutions holding up? Maybe you need a visual prompt to help you manifest your goals and intentions. Come relax and create a Vision Board. All supplies will be provided, but space is limited – please register in advance. Suitable for teens through seniors.

Take Your Child to the Library Day – Saturday, February 3, 2024, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Families are invited to celebrate this National event with a visit to the library. 9:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m.: Drop in for a Character Scavenger Hunt – find the storybook characters in the library and win a prize. 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.: Mrs. Fig will read “Can Sophie Change the World?” by Nancy Elizabeth Wallace, creator of the Library Day logo and one of the children’s room’s favorite authors. Craft time will follow: create your own cut-paper art, and design a bookmark or reading pointer. Registration is required for the story time and craft portion of the day. Space is limited, so please sign up.

Pajama Storytime – Thursday, February 8, 2024, 6:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Come dressed to cuddle and bring your favorite stuffed animal! Mrs. Fig will share her favorite seasonal stories. Family members of all ages are welcome. Registration required.

Bluey Day – Tuesday, February 20, 2024 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Do you love Bluey? We sure do! Bluey is a lovable and adventurous puppy! Join us on this special day for various Bluey-themed events: a Bluey story with Mrs. Fig, followed by a Bluey craft to take home. Try your hand at the scavenger hunt, sample some fairy bread, and take a photo with Bluey or Bingo! Get in the spirit: feel free to wear blue or anything Bluey. Fun for the whole family! Space is limited, so please register in advance.
