Middlesex Chamber Mentor Program Seeks Volunteers

Submitted by Haley Stafford

(January 5, 2024) — Chairman Sean Hayes of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce has announced that the Hal Kaplan Middletown Mentor Program is now accepting mentors.

With more than thirty years of mentoring in the Middletown Public Schools, the Hal Kaplan Middletown Mentor Program has been a valuable community asset that we believe enhances the quality of life for a child by providing an adult Mentor who has time for that child, and who truly believes in that child. We ask you to make a lasting impression in the life of a child…and enjoy every minute of it.

Whether you are a business executive, or a private individual with an hour a week to spare, you can help benefit the life of a child by volunteering as a Mentor and/or making a monetary donation. All it takes to become a Mentor is a small amount of time, a big heart, and a desire to become a valuable part of a child’s life. ALL PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES MUST COMPLETE AN APPLICANT PROFILE, AND A DCF CPS BACKGROUND SEARCH.

To learn more in person, please join us on January 17, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort in Middlefield for an in-person question and answer session, as well as discussions with current mentors.
