2022 HKHS Holiday Telethon on December 23rd to Benefit Team Rachel

(December 1, 2022) —Haddam-Killingworth High School’s television production studio (HKTV) will broadcast the 34th Annual HKTV Holiday Telethon on Friday, December 23, 2022 to benefit Team Rachel.

Rachel Webster is the ten-year-old daughter of HKHS music teacher Marcy Webster. Rachel was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma in February, 2022. For the past 8 months, Rachel has been battling this rare, but aggressive form of cancer with chemotherapy and, over the summer, had an above-the-knee leg amputation. Rachel is continuing chemotherapy and will start radiation treatment in the coming weeks.

The December 23rd live broadcast benefitting Rachel and her family will air from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The annual student-produced telethon can be viewed live on Comcast Channel 18, on Frontier Channel 6090, or online at holidayshow.rsd17.org. You can call in your pledge to (860)554-5490 during the broadcast. Operators will be standing by to take your phone calls.

Donations of $25 or more will be entered into the Fish Bowl and will have a chance to win
prizes. Encore presentations will air daily from December 23, 2022 – January 2, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and phone operators will be standing by. For more information, please contact Mrs. Kasha Topa-Finberg at hktv@rsd17.org.
