Virtual Public Hearing – Plan of Conservation & Development

By Cathy Iino, First Selectwoman, Killingworth.
A virtual public hearing on the Regional Plan of Conservation and Development will be held this evening, June 30, at 7:00 pm. The Regional Planning Committee of the Lower Connecticut Valley Council of Governments (RiverCOG) has drafted the plan, which is required by the State of Connecticut. The plan is based on the local plans of conservation and development; Killingworth adopted our most recent POCD in 2018.
The RPOCD informs land use decisions made by municipal Planning & Zoning commissions and encourages land use coordination across municipal boundaries. It is non-binding on municipalities.

A virtual public hearing on Neighborhood Assistance Act 2021 applications from the Killingworth Land Conservation Trust and the Killingworth Library Association will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 5:00 pm. The NAA allows nonprofit organizations to seek support from private corporations for specific projects; the corporations then get business tax credits for all or part of their donation. You are invited to ask any questions or concerns you have about the submitted applications, which are available at townofkillingworth.com.
