Troopers: Car Stolen Out of Open Garage

At approximately 12:00 noon , a Higganum resident at 1137 Killingworth Rd (Route 81) called 911 after she confronted a man who stole her 2014 Hyundai Tuscan (CT. 1AGKK3) out of her open garage. The resident found the suspect in the driver seat. She then opened the vehicle driver door during the confrontation,  but the suspect backed up out of the driveway causing her to fall and sustaining minor abrasions. The suspect then drove north on Killingworth Rd.
 
The suspect is captured on local business surveillance video walking southbound in the direction of the victims home on Killingworth Rd prior to the incident..  It appears he may have been walking from Route 9.
 
 The male suspect is described as being a medium build white male, approx. 5′ 10″,  approx. 30-40 years old, with possible goatee facial hair, sunglasses, short brown hair, a light colored ball cap, dark colored knee length shorts, dark high top foot wear, carrying a dark colored back pack or bag.  
 
The victim resident refused medical treatment at the scene.

Update June 15, 2019, 9:00 a.m.: Stolen vehicle was located dumped in New Britain.
