Schoolhouse Rock Jr. auditions now open to ages 10-11

Submitted by Rebecca Degnan.

(Oct. 30, 2021) — In light of the exciting announcement about vaccination clinics for students 5-11 in our HK community starting in November, Blue Fire Stage Company has decided to lower the minimum age requirement for our production of Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr.

Actors ages 10-15 may now audition! In order to register, students ages 10-11 must indicate their intent to be vaccinated at one of the November vaccination clinics. We will increase our health and safety procedures until all cast members are fully vaccinated, including cleaning bathrooms before each rehearsal, wiping down surfaces and chairs regularly, taking temperatures upon arrival at auditions and rehearsals, and maintaining a 6 foot distance between actors when singing, in addition to masking at all times indoors. Safety is our top priority and we are very confident in our ability to provide students an amazing theatrical experience in an extremely safe environment. We have produced four productions during the pandemic with zero cases of Covid being reported among our performers due to our planning and diligence.

Auditions are less than two weeks away – don’t wait to register! Information on our schedule, what to prepare and the link to register can be found on our website at bluefirestage.org/auditions As always, feel free to reach out to us with any questions!
