RiverQuest Keeps An Eye on Connecticut River Wildlife

(April 11, 2020) — Though April 2020 cruises are cancelled due to COVID-19, RiverQuest still gets out on the Connecticut River in their work boat, Scout, to keep an eye on nesting bald eagles and osprey in our area. The nests they are watching in our area:

Eagle guarding Clarkhurst Nest
  • Clarkhurst Nest in Haddam (one or more chicks in the nest)
  • Goodspeed Bridge Osprey Nest (the couple has migrated back to their nest and are working on it)
  • Goodspeed Nest in East Haddam (at least one chick in the nest)
  • Ely’s Ferry Nest in Lyme (possible chick in the nest)
  • Hamburg Cove Nest in Lyme (chick in the nest)
  • Selden Island Nest in Lyme (Helen, and her mate, Bob, have an egg that they’re incubating)
  • Dart Island Nest in Middletown (at least one chick in the nest)

If you want to see updates and pictures of birds on our river, join their mailing list at the bottom of their website: HERE.
