Mr. Brookes was a local treasure. His knowledge of area history was encyclopedic in its scope. He frequently had construction crews help the schools with the maintenance of their fields and never sent a bill. Duane Brookes was a kind and generous man with a great sense of humor who will be missed. Great guy.
