MxCCC: Cruise Night on Main Street presents “Start Your Engines to Sunday Funday Virtual Cruise”

Submitted by Sierra Lopez.

(Middletown, CT.) Chairman Tom Byrne and Event Chairman Joe Santaniello of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce announced that the 24th Annual Cruise Night on Main Street, powered by NAPA, has been virtually rescheduled for a second year in a row on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

For the last 23 years, the Middletown Cruise Night on Main Street has been a tradition for car enthusiasts and spectators alike. This year, for the second time, Cruise Night on Main Street will be virtual! “Start Your Engines to Sunday Funday – Middletown is Virtually Cruisin’ in 2020” will be filled with American spirit, amazing cars and lots of fun while following the social distancing guidelines designated by the State of Connecticut.

The virtual event will showcase classic and antique vehicles which will travel a 3.8-mile route throughout beautiful downtown Middletown. The route has been designed to go through the North end and pass the police station, fire personnel and Middlesex Hospital and will ask participants to honk as they drive by to give a big thanks to our first responders, frontline and healthcare workers. The virtual festivities will begin at 12:30 p.m., kicking-off immediately from the NAPA parking lot.

We would like you to participate, watch, volunteer or celebrate with us as we honor our First Responders!  2020 was a huge success and we are looking forward to another fantastic event in 2021! Last year we had just about 300 vehicles and would love to have many more participate this year to show our American spirit!

This event will benefit the Middletown Youth Programs, including the Hal Kaplan Middletown Mentor Program, Middletown Recreation Programs and the Middletown Summer Youth Employment Program. There is a suggested donation of $10.00 for participants. Visit for more information.

For registration, directions and further information, go to In the case of inclement weather and the event has to be postponed, the rain date has been set for Sunday, June 20th.  The delay announcement will be posted on the website, and will be distributed to local and statewide media outlets.
