Letter to the Editor:

I am very proud of our 2019 slate of candidates for this November’s municipal elections. I write this not only in my capacity as Chairwoman of the Killingworth Democratic Town Committee and member of the Board of Finance but also as a “new” resident of 20 years.

I am grateful for all incumbents who have already contributed hundreds of hours and boundless energy to our town and for the new candidates who are eager to bring their talents to positions for which they are uniquely suited. Knowledge and experience bring a steadiness to town governance that has resulted in a stable  mill rate, a smooth functioning and welcoming Town Hall, and a school system of which we can all be proud. This is a slate that knows the challenges facing us and will work to keep our taxes low while continuing to provide the excellent services our townspeople expect.

It takes a team to run a town. Under the continued leadership of First Selectwoman Cathy Iino and Selectman Louis Annino, Jr. this slate of candidates will take us through the next two years with the community spirit and integrity they have always shown. Over the past two months our candidates bios have been on our Facebook page and our website. Candidates and their supporters have published many letters explaining their experiences and qualifications. We recently sent out a brochure doing the same in a condensed format. For weeks now many of our candidates have been out there knocking on doors and greeting you at our town’s busiest location, Recycle Way.

Because we are asking for your vote, we want you to know who we are and why we are running. If you want to check us out again, visit our website or Facebook  page by googling the Killingworth Democratic Town Committee.

Please vote Row A on Tuesday, November 5 for this solid team of candidates. Polls will be open at KES  from 6:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m.

Annie Stirna
Chairwoman, Killingworth Democratic Town Committee
