I am writing in support of Renee LaMark Muir for State Representative in the 36th Assembly District.  I am confident that Renee will continue to advocate for women’s healthcare and reproductive rights that are so crucial to our daughters and granddaughters. Thanks to the Democratic majority in the State Legislature, Connecticut is a beacon for anyone who cares about women’s rights — especially the right to choose.
When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade as national law and left it up to the states to decide whether or not to keep abortion legal, I was proud that Connecticut stepped up as a true leader in protecting this vital aspect of women’s healthcare. Renee LaMark Muir has been a leader in her Deep River community, serving on various boards and committees, and winning the respect of others.  She also has an extraordinary record of public service as an analyst at Connecticut General Assembly, a homicide detective for the Hartford Police Department, and a consultant at the Institute of Municipal and Regional Policy at UConn.
As our next state representative, Renee will not only protect women’s healthcare, she will also be a strong advocate for the environment, support quality education, and attend to the concerns of young families and seniors.  She believes in fiscal responsibility and will ensure that constituents are protected from unnecessary increases in state spending.  Renee LaMark Muir is a clear choice for our next state representative.  Plan to vote for her on November 5th.
