Letter to the Editor: In Support of Christine Palm

The views stated here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the editors of this newspaper. Submitted Oct. 21, 2020.

Our family recently moved to Higganum and we are proud to call this lovely river valley district our home. Since state politicians typically have a greater effect on one’s daily life, we believe it is especially important to research the candidates running to represent us. After reading and hearing local testimonials, we believe Christine Palm should continue to be our voice in Hartford. She has been a great listener and problem solver, working tirelessly to understand the needs of the district during this uncertain time. With the legislative calendar cut short, she has made herself as accessible as possible to
her constituents. Hearing our concerns through phone calls, email, weekly updates, and even in person when possible. Printed accounts to the contrary are just unfounded.

Representative Palm has been a strong advocate for small businesses and workers impacted by Covid, assisting many seeking relief as we all try to adjust and survive. She backs recent legislation to protect consumers from unfair utility rate hikes. She has been quick to learn the diverse nature and needs of the district and does more than vote the party line. She diligently displays a comprehensive understanding of the issues and is not afraid to stand up to controversy. Her first tenure is an excellent example of her work ethic, garnering support from a bipartisan constituency and many highly respected organizations. This degree of support is earned from competent leadership and legislative initiative. Allow her to continue this work for us, Vote Palm.
