Killingworth: April 2022 Events

Submitted by Tammy Eustis, Assistant Director, Killingworth Library Association.

Celebrate Plant-a-Seed of Kindness Day at the Library!

Visit the library on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and enjoy a variety of activities, fun for everyone from the youngest patrons through seniors. Paint rocks, plant seeds, create a Tree of Life craft, and participate in the “With My Own Two Hands” project – identify a kind act that you pledge to do and place the paper in our special mailbox; all participants will be entered in our drawing for prizes. Check our website: killingworthlibrary.org – or Facebook: facebook.com/killingworthlibrary – for details.

Volcanoes and Their Literary Connections with Phil Devlin

Tuesday, April 12th at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. Learn how the history of volcanic eruptions has influenced and guided the works of Emily Dickinson, Mary Shelley, and Mark Twain – ponder the power of the planet through Ralph Waldo Emerson’s essay on Compensation – and explore Killingworth’s own volcanic connections through Titus Coan and the Killingworth Dome.

Please register in advance for this event through the library website’s Calendar, or call 860-663-2000. A Zoom link to the program will be emailed in advance.

Passport to Connecticut Libraries ~ Hit the Road in April

As Spring arrives and we step back outside, let your library card open the doors of Connecticut libraries by joining the Passport to Connecticut Libraries Program! During the month of April, Killingworth residents are invited to pick up a library passport and explore the offerings at libraries around the state. Be sure to have your visits logged – those visiting at least five libraries will be entered in a statewide prize drawing. Full details will be available through the library’s social media.

April Saturday Storytimes

The library’s Saturday Storytimes continue in April! If the weather continues to improve, we will consider holding some in-person sessions outside. Please visit the library’s website Calendar for details and registration links.
