Interlibrary Vans Vandalized – Loans Delays Possible

From Killingworth Library.

(July 20, 2021) We may experience some delays in receiving interlibrary loans at this time – the vans that provide the Connecticut State Library’s deliverIT service were vandalized over the weekend. The CSL is working with the State police and DAS Fleet Repair to get the wheels back on the road as soon as possible (and to track down the culprits). Killingworth Library’s route was one of six affected. We’ll keep you posted about any further delays! FYI: deliverIT is the statewide service that moves materials among the public libraries – this includes the items you return to us that belong to other libraries, all interlibrary loans (through the consortium or outside sources), book discussion titles, materials from the Library for the Blind and State service center, etc. If you’re at the library in the morning, you may cross paths with our driver and his many bins. Please take a moment to say thank you for their service!
