HVFC Provides Mutual Aid to KVFC for Structure Fire

(September 22, 2022) — Haddam Volunteer Fire Company provided mutual aid to Killingworth on September 22nd to assist with a working structure fire on N. Chestnut Hill Road.

The occupants and two cats made it out of the home safely.

Additional crews from Chester, Deep River, Essex, Guilford, Clinton, Madison, North Madison, Old Saybrook, and Westbrook also provided mutual aid at the scene. The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes, but the incident required more than two hours of overhaul.

The cause of the fire is under investigation with the Killingworth Fire Marshal’s Office.
At 10:50 a.m., while on scene in Killingworth, HVFC was dispatched to assist with a reported appliance fire on Wiese Albert Road. And at 3:50 p.m., HVFC responded to a business on Killingworth Road for reported smoke on the second floor.
