On Aug. 16, HVFC participated in a water-rescue drill on the Connecticut River. In a mock scenario, crews were dispatched to an area north of Haddam Island for a personal watercraft accident involving two injured people. Firefighters accessed the patients from the company’s boat, Marine-13, and practiced loading the victims (played by members) into the boat from the water.
Haddam Fire has already responded to four watercraft rescues this summer.
