(October 6, 2022) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Girls soccer team played a tight game at Canton High School on October 4, 2022. Their first night game of the season also marked their first game in October, where the wind and rain made their presence felt, too.  In a very close game, both HK and Canton were scoreless in the first half.  Both keepers had their share of quality saves, but HK keeper Vyv Laurenza made a couple of outstanding saves that would make any highlight reel.  Laurenza ended up making nine saves, while Canton keeper Juliana Cavanaugh made six.

Canton was able to get the lone goal in the second half when freshman Alyssa Koczak was able to secure a goal for the Warriors.  HK never quit and tried to break the tough Canton defense several times.  While opportunities were there, they could just not find the back of the net on this night.  HK’s record is now 5-3-1.  Their next game is Thursday October 6th, at home versus conference leader Morgan.  Game time is 3:45pm.
