Football 2022: HKHS Defeats Old Saybrook/Westbrook 30-0

(September 12, 2022) — Alex Phipps threw two touchdown passes and scored another on a run as Haddam-Killingworth High School defeated the Old Saybrook/Westbrook co-op (0-1) at Old Saybrook on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Xenon Kolcio caught a 49-yard touchdown pass, had a 17-yard pick-six, and kicked three extra points for the Cougars (1-0). HK’s defense forced four turnovers, including interceptions by Ryan Rafferty and Jacob McGoey.

“I was pleased with our effort today,” said HK Head Coach Tyler Wilcox. “We made a few mistakes, but worked through them and improved as the game went on. It’s always good to get that first game under your belt with a win. Now it’s time to get back to work and prepare for week two.”
