Haddam Senior & Social Services: March 2020 Report & Info. for Families in Need

The Senior Center is still providing meals to seniors in need. Meals can be picked up on Mondays between 11:30-12:00 p.m.
Haddam Emergency Food, Fuel, & Clothing Bank is still operating by appointment only.
If you or a family you know is in need, please call Jessica Condil at Social Services at 860-345-4621 or email socialservices@haddam.org.
Social services are prepared to help those in the community who can not get out. We have volunteers available to help shop and deliver food to the homebound and seniors.
There are many people who may not be comfortable reaching out for help so please check on your neighbors and we encourage those in need to please seek help. We are here to help you through this difficult time.
Burr Elementary School is providing a bagged breakfast and lunch for any student under the age of 18. Pick up is available Monday through Friday between 9:30 -11:30 a.m. Please contact Ms. Shettleworth at 860-345-4534 or she can be emailed at sshettleworth@rsd17.org.
 
We are still asking for handmade facemasks. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to make these for our essential health care workers.

March 2020– Haddam Senior & Social Services – Monthly Report

Senior & Social Services:

The following programs have serviced the community:

Haddam Emergency Food Bank has serviced a total of 99 Adults & 30 Children.

Haddam Emergency Fuel Bank has serviced a total of 6 families- 2 oil, 1 wood & 3 for electric.

Haddam Emergency Clothing Bank has serviced 6 Adults & 2 Children.

Haddam Senior & Social Services has serviced 7 individuals with paperwork assistance.

Haddam Social Services has serviced 2 families with blankets this month.

Haddam Social Services has done 2 wellness checks for March 2020.

 

Senior Van:

The Senior Van has serviced a total of 9 medical appointments for the month of March.

The weekly shopping trip has had a consistent average of 8 seniors weekly. The weekly shopping trip was put on hold due to COVID-19 after 3/10/2020.

Haddam Senior Center:

The Haddam Senior Center has had a total of 159 visitors for the month of January.

Of the 159, 112 have attended the CRT lunch program at the senior center. 16 attended our special lunch “Pizza and a Movie” and 13 for our special breakfast.

8 attended the cartooning activity.

As of 3/16/2020 all CRT meals have been a grab and go or frozen meal due to COVID-19. Meals are distributed on Mondays for the week and are available for pick up Mondays 11:30-noon.
