The Candidate Forum for the two candidates for the office of First Selectman of Haddam, Republican incumbent Robert McGarry and Democrat Sean Donlan, was taped on Thursday morning October 21, 2021 and is now available online and will also be shown on Valley Shore Community Television.
The Forum was sponsored by Brainerd Memorial Library and moderated by Library Director Tom Piezzo and Library Trustee Kent Jarrell, who is a former Washington D.C. journalist. Questions were compiled for the candidates from comments from members of the Haddam community and a review of issues facing the town.
Issues discussed included the town budget, taxes, green initiatives, the Higganum Community Sewer Project, town ownership of property, and the candidate’s vision for Haddam.
