The Haddam Committee on Aging (COA) had it first meeting of the 2018/19 season on Monday, September 17, 2018.  We meet the third Monday of the month at the Annex building near the Jail at 10:oo a.m. All are welcome to attend.
We typically cover a host of issues, e.g. High Meadow; staff changes: in HK Youth & Family Services (Heather LaCasse has been replaced by Lori Rudifer); Jessica Condil has assumed the jobs of Municipal Agent and Social Services Coordinator because of the departure of Eleanor Farrell;Â Senior Expo is coming October 4, 2018 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Note that luncheon meals are again being offered 5 days a week at the Senior Center. Call Shannon Buganski a day a head to reserve at 860-345-2480. Also call Diane Gondek at 860-682-3301 for senior pick up for medical transport.
That same day the Senior Center hosted First Selectman Lizz Milardo at a very well-attended Club 60 meeting. She updated the attendees about a host of issues including: town-wide road survey as well as which roads/bridges are scheduled for repair over the balance of this year; Higganum Center (Elementary School, Scovil buildings, need of sewer system); Tylerville water; cell towers; Chatham Lake (need for dam maintenance, second attempt to sell property … unfortunately there were no bidders).
