The Haddam-Killingworth High School girls varsity soccer team shut out the Old Saybrook Rams on October 6, 2020 by a score of 3-0.
The game today, was the 2020 Senior Game. The nine senior players and two senior team managers were honored before the game. Those being honored were: Kedarjah Lewis, Morgan Madore, Kaitlyn Parri, Morgan Schultz, Sophie Gromala, Autumn Walton, Mai-Ly Criscuolo, Kelsey Lonergan and Mia Rubino. Team managers were Candace Williams and Jenna Griffiths.
The HK Cougars started the first half with a successful penalty kick taken by junior, Yumi Imai. HK finished the 1st half with a ripping shot by Kaitlyn Parri, going up 2-0. In the second half, HK kept the pressure on. Morgan Madore had a fantastic corner kick, where Kedarjah Lewis found it and sealed the win, 3-0. Goalkeeper Kesley Lonergan had a great game with five saves to complete the shutout.
Haddam-Killingworth moved to 2-0 to start the season.
