Girls Soccer 2019: HKHS Defeated by Lewis Mills in Round 2 of Class M State Tournament

Submitted Mike Shea, Coach.

The Haddam Killingworth High School Varsity Girls Soccer team was defeated by Lewis Mills 6-1 on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 in round 2 of the Class M State Tournament.
Autumn Walton, assisted by Rebecca Fisher, scored HK’s goal. For Lewis Mills, goals were scored by Alison Fox (2), Victoria Fleming, Morgan Sokol, Alyse Pasquolini.
Sophia Torello had 17 saves for H-K, and Resmije Bylykbashi had 7 saves.
Lewis Mills showed why they are the defending state champions. We adjusted our formation at the half and the girls never quit.  Autumn scoring with five minutes left in the game shows that: HKHS played right to the end.  Even though the loss stings, it’s something that can’t erase what we accomplished this year.  We built a strong foundation in preparation for next year.  Our seniors (Ashley Duncanson and Rebecca Fisher) both had some really positive things to say to the team last night after the game.  Hearing what this season meant to them will inspire us to make next year even better.
