Daniel Hernandez scored three rushing touchdowns and Dylan Jackson added two more to lead Sports and Medical Sciences Academy (5-4) in its win over HK (2-7) in Hartford on Friday night. Miguel Varela ran for one TD and threw for another in SMSA’s final game of the season.

Matteo Piacenti caught a 25-yard pass from Alex Phipps for the Cougars’ lone score.
“We ran into a very good team tonight — hats off to SMSA,” said HK coach Tyler Wilcox. “Now we have one more game, and we’d obviously like nothing better than to beat Valley, our annual Thanksgiving rival. We have the team to do it. I believe in them. Now we just have to go out and put our best game together.
