Submitted by Mitch Gross, Eversource.

BERLIN, Conn. (Dec. 1, 2021) – Eversource is pleased to announce that Steve Sullivan will become the new president of the company’s electric operations in Connecticut effective December 5th. Sullivan, a Connecticut resident and company employee for more than 30 years, will serve as the President of the Connecticut Light & Power Company and lead a dedicated, cross-functional team tasked with addressing  the needs of customers in Connecticut. He will oversee electric operations and system maintenance in the state and will lead the company’s storm response and resource allocation decisions with the Connecticut Incident Command Team.
“I’m honored to lead the Connecticut operations team and eager to work directly with our highly-skilled and experienced employees to ensure the electric grid is strong and reliable, and further enhance our emergency preparedness so our customers can feel confident that when a storm comes, we’re ready to respond,” said Sullivan. “As we focus every day on our essential mission to safely and reliably serve our customers while being responsible environmental stewards, I look forward to collaborating with our dedicated employees and state leaders to advance a clean energy future that benefits all customers.”
Sullivan currently serves as Transmission Project Management and Construction Vice President, overseeing transmission and distribution substation projects, which strengthen the transmission system and enable the adoption of new renewable energy across Eversource’s three-state service area. Sullivan has extensive electric distribution knowledge, including system operations and system restoration.
“Steve’s deep industry knowledge and experience position him as the ideal candidate for this strategically important position,” said Eversource Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Werner Schweiger. “As we re-set our relationships with communities and customers in Connecticut, Steve will play a critical role in building positive relationships and partnerships while driving a refreshed customer focus and aiming for continuous operational improvements.”
In his new role, Steve will also lead a cross-functional, state-focused team that will include Electric Field Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Community Affairs. This new organization will also have direct support from other recently named Connecticut-based corporate officers who lead IT and Corporate Communications. Steve is committed to rebuilding the confidence and trust of our customers, the business community and elected leaders across Connecticut.
Residents of the northeastern corner of Connecticut, Sullivan and his wife Janet have a true appreciation and love for the Nutmeg State and understanding of the state’s needs. Sullivan has worked in Operations for Eversource – or its predecessor companies – for more than 30 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Tufts University.
