CT River Artisans: Summer Season Kicks off – June 6

By Linda C. Cave.

Connecticut River Artisans Co-op will be kicking off our Summer season on June 6 . with our first “Artist of the Month” reception.  We are pleased to name Tina McKim as our Artist of the Month for June.

Tina learned to sew at a young age and was inspired by her Grandmother’s patchwork quilts.  She later studied fashion design, patternmaking and tailoring.  While studying at Philadelphia Textile, for her degree in fabric design, she became enamored with screen printing.  Tina creates, tote bags, wine totes, decorator pillows, with fabric that she prints. Her beach motifs are inspired by summers spent at Cape Cod and the Jersey Shore.

Tina has worked in Product Development for Cabbage Patch Dolls; made costumes for Goodspeed Opera House; taught fashion at Gibbs College and has been a free-lance designer for toy companies, including Hasbro and the Danbury Mint.

Tina’s reception is on June 6, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  See her amazing designs, meet Tina and indulge in a glass of wine and some snacks.

Pop-Up Space for Artists

Outdoor “Pop-Up” space is now available with Connecticut River Artisans Cooperative. Space should be secured as soon as possible for Saturdays and Sundays in June, July and August.

Connecticut River Artisans Co-op is located in Essex in a high-volume, foot-traffic area.  You will find us near popular tourist attractions, restaurants and the town marina.

In order to ensure quality, we will jury your handmade arts and crafts. We will not accept commercial vendors or imports.  We can offer great exposure for your goods, as well as an enjoyable day.
